Easter

We had a somewhat strange Easter up here in RI. All three of us are sick, so we didn't make it to church, but I couldn't resist dressing Anna up anyways. We had a little Easter egg hunt for her in the back yard and gave her a couple little presents including a princess wand. The wand has a button you press for the "barrriiinng" noise and, as expected, she's been pushing it non stop all day long. In other news, I didn't think about starting Easter dinner until 4:30 which was just plain dumb, so I think we're getting Chinese food tonight. We're determined to get our act together by next year. Church, ham, the whole bit.

Cute Saturday Morning Photo

I've had a hard time resisting Baby Gap lately. Yesterday I picked up this cute headband/handkerchief to match an outfit she already had. We'll see how long she keeps it on!

...actually...

No photos today. I just wanted to share some funny things Anna's been saying:

Last night, I sat down at her little table and asked what she was going to make me for dinner. She says "Ummm, sgetti! Hol on. Be white back!" and runs over to find the fake plate of spaghetti in her kitchen. So cute!

We were up in her room sitting in the rocking chair and she points to the toile pattern on the seat cushion and says "Angels... mmm, axe-ly (i.e. actually), babies." I guess she got that from me. When she's trying to identify something and gets it wrong, I say, "Well, acutally, that's the color blue" to let her down easy. I can't believe she picked that up!

This morning she was looking for a piece to her little tea set and when she finally spotted it, she exclaims "Dere she is!", which, of course, is what Josh and I say when we see her. Agh! All the talking is a little overwhelming somedays, but on the whole, super cute.

I Love This Kid

I finally got a video of Anna singing some of her new favorite songs and saying two of her new favorite "excited" phrases, "AWESOME", and "OH GOSH!"
I also got this great video of Anna dancing at "reading" group at the library. All the other kids sit with their moms, but Anna insists on going up to the front and spinning in circles for everyone. She's not singing along like usual in this video (I'm amazed at how many songs she suddenly knows the words to!), but she is showing off her hot moves and finishes up with her standard "AGAIN AGAIN AGAIN" demand for more music.

The Annas

This morning Anna's friend Anna -- yeah, confusing, I know -- came over bright and early to play. My lazy child was still in her favorite new hippo pjs. Anyways, I left them alone for 2 second and Anna #2 (who happens to be exactly one week younger than my Anna) got into the Goldfish and decided to share the wealth. As soon as I came back into the room, they both shot me knowing little malicious smiles.
The Annas play so nicely together, it makes me want to ask if Anna #2 can move in permanently. My Anna is so much happier with a friend around and I feel like I can get a ton of stuff done when she's distracted. She should have been a twin. Hm, who does THAT sound like?
As you can see, Anna #2's visit inspired a new hairstyle for Anna #1. I personally think the double stick out ponytails are a good look...

...I'm not sure Anna agrees. She kept looking at me all day like, "Seriously?"

Free Balloom

For those of you who don't know already, our "nice car" (2003 Explorer) was totalled in a car accident two weeks ago, so we had to buy a new one. Josh talked me into a minivan. I actually cried for about five minutes when he first suggested it, but quickly came to grips with the fact that I'm not 17 anymore and was able to move forward with the purchase. To be honest, I kind of love the new ride. It's all shiney and spacious... and it's a Honda! What really sold us was the free balloon that came with any $30,000 purchase. The other bonus is that we get to keep my 1996 Accord with 163,000 glorious miles on it. We were planning to get rid of that one first, but we just can't seem to shake that car no matter how hard we try! Anna's been having fun with her big red balloon and has been all giddy whenever we get in the minivan saying, "New car, new car, new car" over and over. So, here's a pic of Anna with her bonus balloon and one of the new hair styles we've been trying out to keep her staticy mess under control. I also thought I'd throw in this cute photo of Anna passed out after church. Not much has changed in the last year with respect to how hard she parties in Sunday School.
